Juvederm Q&A

What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid filler that restores lost volume in your skin. Hyaluronic acid is a gel-like substance that your body already produces.

When injected into the skin, hyaluronic acid-based fillers essentially fill in wrinkles, lines, and hollow areas in your face.

What can Juvéderm treat?

Juvéderm can fill in wrinkles and saggy skin in any of your facial contours, as well as in your hands.

As a dermal filler, Juvéderm works best to treat static wrinkles — those that develop from volume loss — rather than dynamic wrinkles, which form from repeated muscle movement.

Some of the most common treatment areas for Juvéderm include:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Thin lips
  • Lip lines
  • Chin wrinkles
  • Crow’s feet
  • Frown lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Under-eye bags

Along with treating wrinkles and volume loss, Juvéderm is an effective treatment for deep acne scars and facial contouring.

For the most natural results, it’s important to schedule an initial consultation with Dr. Willis to determine the right areas for your injections.

What happens after Juvéderm?

Juvéderm injections take about 15 minutes, making them the perfect lunch break treatment.

After Dr. Willis injects your fillers, you may experience minor bruising, swelling, and redness. These effects are temporary and typically subside within seven days.

Unlike other injectable treatments, dermal fillers provide immediate results. Your wrinkles and creases should look noticeably smoother and tighter when you leave New England Laser Lipo.

Does Juvéderm have side effects?

Juvéderm contains hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your body. It’s also biosynthetic and of non-animal origin, so you’re less likely to experience an allergic reaction. The formula itself is biocompatible and requires no testing prior to treatment.

Juvéderm is the only hyaluronic acid-based filler that’s FDA approved to treat all skin types and colors. Once injected, the filler gradually absorbs into your body over the next 6-12 months.

Because Juvéderm is safe and effective for all skin types, you can return to New England Laser Lipo for maintenance treatments to ensure your results continue to look fresh and natural.
