Are you considering Lipo?

Wednesday, August 16th, 2017

If you have stubborn fat that just will not go away, despite your active lifestyle and healthy diet, liposuction can be the go to solution. Dr. Willis of New England Laser Lipo offers both traditional, and laser liposuction treatment options. Understanding the two treatments can help patients choose which option will offer ideal results.

Dr. Willis provides personalized liposuction consultations and treatment plans. Our patient’s safety, health, and overall well being are our priority. A thorough exam will help determine if you are a good candidate for liposuction.

Traditional Liposuction

A traditional liposuction treatment will suction out fat in pre-determined “trouble areas”. Using hollow tubes, Dr. Willis loosens and then removes fat cells permanently. In most cases, patients undergo general anesthesia during treatment for optimal comfort. After treatment, results are typically instant although some patients experience discomfort in the form of bleeding, bruising and swelling. While this treatment requires a longer downtime than laser lipo, it may be more appropriate based on your overall health and personal goals.

Laser Liposuction

Laser liposuction is an innovative, minimally invasive treatment option for the removal of stubborn, unwanted fat. Laser lipo uses a high tech laser to destroy unwanted fat cells and stimulate the regeneration of skin cells for tighter, firmer skin. The laser virtually liquefies fat cells for easier, less intense removal. Laser lipo can be used to target fat in almost any region of the body.

Laser lipo generally requires only local anesthesia eliminating the need to undergo general anesthesia. Patients who receive laser lipo often experience significantly less bruising, and downtime is shorter than with traditional lipo.

Although there are many benefits to laser liposuction, it is not the ideal treatment for all patients. Laser lipo is typically recommended for patients close to their ideal weight. Traditional lipo can be used for patients looking to remove more substantial fat volume. Dr. Willis will discuss both options with you and determine your personal goals to decide which treatment plan is best.
