What is liposuction?Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure that removes undesired fat and smooths out lumps and bumps. Using high powered suction tubes, Dr. Willis sucks the fat out of trouble regions via tiny incisions. A vacuum pump sucks out the fat deposits leaving the patient with a smoother, more contoured shape.
How does laser-assisted liposuction work?Laser-assisted lipo uses the addition of laser energy waves. These low-level waves focus on the treatment area. The laser penetrates the skin and weakens the walls of the fat cells allowing the fat to be more easily removed. Through a tiny incision, a small cannula will be inserted under the skin to suck out the melted fat. The laser allows for less discomfort, minimal bruising and swelling and superior results compared to traditional liposuction.
Which parts of the body are optimal for laser liposuction?Laser lipo can effectively eliminate fat in almost any region of the body. Females typically ask for fat removal from the knees, thighs, hips, and abdomen. For males, it is popular in the neck, arms, enlarged breasts, love handles, and abdomen. Laser liposuction can also be used to reduce overactive sweat glands. Using precise treatment, patients are still able to cool themselves without an excessive sweat.
What are the advantages of laser lipo?Laser-assisted lipo has many advantages over traditional lipo methods. Patients enjoy a shorter downtime, with many patients returning to their daily routine the next day. Laser lipo is less vigorous and reduces swelling and bruising allowing for a more comfortable treatment.
